Once again, Quentin Richardson was traded during this 2009 NBA offseason, marking the fourth time the transaction list has included Richardson in a trade, which confirms one thing: No one wants Quentin Richardson! Well, maybe his new team, the Miami Heat, but at this point, even that is suspect. Below are the four offseason trades that have seen Q go from east to south to west to north to back south. Your head spinning too?
- New York Knicks to Memphis Grizzlies for Darko Milicic
- Grizzlies to the Los Angeles Clippers for Zach Randolph
- Clippers to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Sebastian Telfair, Mark Madsen, and Craig Smith
- Timberwolves to the Miami Heat for Mark Blount
So with all of this transition in his life, there has to be some legitimate reasons as to why Richardson is being moved around so much. We did our best to come up with the top five reasons, which are listed below in no particular order. Amongst the indefinite number of reasons, these are surely the top five, mostly because we said so.
1) Having Richardson in the locker room is fine with teams, but it's asking too much of them to hire Darius Miles as the team's official head thumper as part of Richardson's conditions to play. 2) "Zach Randolph is available? Let's get him! But first, pass me that blunt and 40. I'm Chris Wallace, beyotch!" 3) Everyone loves a goof, especially if he has no rhythm when he allegedly dances, because he's what they call a "glue guy"... sounds racist considering we're talking about Mark Madsen. 4) Darko needed to be freed... again. 5) And, finally, a reason that actually has to directly do with Richardson... Nine NBA seasons... lifetime 39.8 FG%... nuff said.
I got money down on Q getting traded again before the NBA trading deadline during the season! BET!
